In the past the group that targeted them had only managed to beat them when they’d had the advantage of surprise. It seemed like they were better organized now, and had some more power on their side, but Asch was still more or less confident that they could handle themselves.</p><hr><p>Natalia lifted her hand up to the one on her shoulder, appreciating the comfort he was giving her. Guy was a much needed support for her, always warm and understanding, a stable foundation much like Asch had once been. She nods her agreement. And though it remained unsaid, she couldn’t deny a little jealousy for that bond as well. She would never understand either of them the way they understood each other, even having known them since they were small.</p><p>She nods a little at his words, she’d expected him to go with the rescue party. He could never leave Luke when he was in trouble, and she knew as he’d said that despite their problems in the past, Asch had become important to him as well.</p><p>“I want to go, but Father and Uncle won’t allow it. I know it’s dangerous but… I feel the same way, I care deeply about both of them, and I want to be there for them, to rescue them.” She sighs quietly.<br></p><p>“Though I don’t know how much the Knights will need a leader this time,” she muses, smiling a little “Uncle was so furious that Luke was taken, and now Asch is presumably captured as well, he took up his sword again and is planning on leading the White Knights himself. As I heard it, at least.”<br></p><p>It had been awhile since Crimson had done so, and spoke to how much he truly did care for his sons, even if he normally didn’t show it well.</p></blockquote><p>It didn’t help that the shackles he had were interfering with it just slightly so there was some amount of interference, albeit minute, around the edges, almost unnoticeable normally but the feeling was off too. He tried not to let it affect him, but he could tell by the slightly pained expression on Asch’s face that it was hurting him and resolved to withdraw once he got the chance.</p><p>So Asch had sent Noire back beforehand, then, figuring he’d end up getting captured. Obviously which worked, since he wasn’t all that good with his left arm again yet and he wouldn’t be able to defend himself that well. He really wanted to keep it open and let their inner selves intertwine, it usually made them both feel better when they couldn’t actually wrap around each other, but he didn’t want to make Asch’s headache, which he could vaguely feel though the link, any worse than it already was. </p><hr><p>Guy nodded, his hand tightening minutely on her shoulder underneath her hand. “Honestly, I agree with them, after all, you are the princess and the people wouldn’t be able to survive without their princess, not to mention you’d be needed with the summit.” Neither would he, for that matter, and they had already seen how far the people would go to protect her.</p><p>The news about Crimson, though, came as a bit of a surprise, but once she mentioned Luke and then Asch, he could see why. “Seeing as it’s so soon after that nasty wound Asch got, it’s kind of understandable. Luke’s been helping him out with trying to get back to where he was in skill with his left arm, but he’s used his right arm for so long…” He trailed off, not wanting to finish that as another thought came to him. “And their mother must be worried sick.”</p><p>Suzanne was a frail woman, they both knew, and she probably suspected as much as they did that the two of them had been captured and was worrying over them even as they spoke.
