Saturday, October 14, 2017UConn, Beef BarnHorsebarn Hill Road8am-4:30pm~ WHY TAG YOUR ANIMALS? The Connecticut Department of Agriculture sent out this message today to remind everyone why it is important to put your own ID tags in your animals. There are advantages to producers officially identifying their animals and keeping records of their animals moving off the farm:1.It ensures that the ownership of their animals will not be confused with others either by the transporter or at a livestock market. This will minimize the risk of a producer being paid for an animal owned by someone else, which could be of lesser value.2. It provides producers with additional sales options, potentially resulting in a higher sales price. Officially identified animals can be sold and moved from more than one livestock market prior to going to a slaughter facility. 3. It ensures the correct ownership of animals moving through the market chain to slaughter facilities, minimizing the risk of a producer being wrongly held responsible for incidents of either drug residue violations or disease conditions involving animals he did not own. Quantcast | Current rank, according to our database, is at 925679 | Quantcast does not rank this website very high, which should in theory mean it's not that popular. Having said that, popularity is context-dependant, so take this with a grain of salt. |
Links on homepage | Around 25 links | This is a well-judged amount of links for a homepage. |
Backlinks amount | Approximately 48 | The number of backlinks seems awfully low. If possible, the webmaster should work towards building more through quality content and public awareness. |

Now that the numbers are taken care of, we can go deeper and try to analyse the website from a user's perspective. More specifically, let's see if we can identify the target audience as well as a few related websites and categories.

The website falls into one or all of these categories, and, obviously, these are the areas of interest for the target audience. |
Alternative websites | nutmegspinners.org heartandsoulspinnery.com iowasheepandwoolfestival.com southerniowaalpacas.com sepefarm.com |
These websites fall into the same categories as ctsheep.org, more or less. By extension, they compete with the analysed website for the same target audience. |
QUANTCAST is a data processing company that mostly gathers information for advertising companies. It specializes in real-time audience analysis and, as you may have gathered, is really quite similar to Alexa, if perhaps not as infamous. To our knowledge, the company has rated and ranked approximately 190370686 websites so far. There is always a caveat with these sort of ranking systems - they don't really take any context into account. As such, their usefulness is debatable at best. Don't overthink this rank - it's just a number, really.
Servers are physical storage devices that contain all the files and databases associated with a specific website, sometimes more than one. At times, a server makes up several virtual devices - separate servers used for shared hosting (tends to be cheaper). Entering website address into the address bar of your browser starts the request process during which your browser contacts the server and asks for specific files and database entries in order to display the requested website.
